IDAHO

Right before Valentine's Day, my Mummo (Grandma in Finnish) passed away.  She fought lupus for 40 years, when they told her she wouldn't live 10 years.  She was a strong, elegant lady.  My Grandpa served his mission in Finland, met my Grandma and they became pen pals.  She got a 3 month Visa and flew to Idaho where they ended up marrying shortly after.  Talk about faith!  Leave your country and family to marry!  They were perfect together.  She was bed ridden mostly for the last 5 years while he was by her side the whole way.
The funeral was lovely.  It's easier when they have lived a full life and you know they are somewhere pain free.  She will be missed... My amazing sister
Funerals bring people together and we celebrated her life the way she wanted us to.  My grandparents sold their beautiful ranch up in idaho a couple of years ago and we have all missed it so much!
We were able to go to the beautiful ranch and do what we love~
My crazy cousin Evan snowmobiling over the river!
Blakely loved being outside.  We had to take snowmobiles into the ranch cuz of all the snow and she enjoyed it... well she slept both ways!  The snow was so deep.
If she could speak sentences she would say, "mom I'm warm enough, don't put another layer on me please!"
Every winter and summer we would spend a lot of time on the ranch!  Snowmobiling in the winter, and 4 wheeling in the summer.  Great childhood that I didn't want to forget so I had fun snapping shots all day of the beautiful scenery...
Since my "Mummo" is from Finland, she brought some Finnish festivities to Idaho.  THE SAUNA!
Scott thought my family was crazy, but here is the little cabin that we warm up in before jumping in the creek.
Warming up the sauna!  Blakely is wearing a Finnish hat... a fox on her head!  Don't judge!
My look a likes
The boys so proud of themselves for jumping in the freezing cold creek!
Cooling off before they got hot again in the sauna!
It was the perfect trip to honor my Grandma.

That was neat to hear about your grandparents and the tradition of the sauna. It is always nice when a funeral can be somewhat of a grateful and peaceful occasion. We do need to see you guys! Blakely is getting so big and is Scott's look-alike. haha
